Episode Narrative Thunderstorms produced very heavy rainfall by mid afternoon across portions of western New Mexico. The heavy rainfall fell so quickly that vehicles were swept away into nearby arroyos due to the high water flow. Luckily, no one was injured.
Event Narrative Highway 66 was closed for approximately one hour near Western Skies Road due to high water.
