Episode Narrative Colder air aloft filtered into Wyoming behind an upper level low near the Montana-Canada border. This cold air coupled with afternoon surface heating helped to generate a severe thunderstorm over the central Wind River Basin.
Event Narrative Hail of penny to quarter size, with some slightly larger than one inch in diameter, fell for about 10 minutes at a residence near Riverton.
