| Episode Narrative | The drought continued to plague the northern Big Country and the Northwest Hill Country while spring showers brought improvements to the remainder of West Central Texas. Stock water tanks and pond levels were dropping daily and becoming a major concern. Some producers considered further culling of herds because of lack of water. The following precipitation amounts were recorded for the month of May: Abilene received 3.28 inches of rain, where normal is about 2.5 inches for the month. San Angelo received 0.12 inches of rain, where normal is about 2.78 inches for the month. Junction received 2.55 inches of rain, where normal is about 3.3 inches of rain. |
