Episode Narrative A mature, very intense derecho moved rapidly east along a stationary front across the Mid Mississippi Valley into the Lower Ohio Valley. Winds along the bowing portion of the derecho weakened significantly before entering western Kentucky. Near the comma head on the northern end of the bow, some minor damage occurred in Union County. However, there was significantly less damage than what occurred with the comma head in southern Illinois. Very heavy rain accompanied the system, causing localized flash flooding.
Event Narrative Minor street flooding was reported.
