Episode Narrative A nearly stationary storm over Arizona provided an extended period of deep moisture with widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms. A few of the heavier showers and thunderstorms produced heavy rain. One such storm impacted the Northwest Plateau, resulting in localized flash flooding along state highway 491 south of Shiprock.
Event Narrative Heavy rain caused about four feet of mud to slide into an irrigation canal running along Navajo route 362. This forced water over route 362 and onto farm land and residents' homes.
