Episode Narrative Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms developed over southeast Louisiana in a moist and unstable atmosphere as a strong upper level storm system affected the lower Mississippi Valley.
Event Narrative Heavy rainfall of 6 to 8 inches in a little over two hours resulted in widespread street flooding in the Ama, Hahnville, Destrehan, St. Rose and New Sarpy areas. A dozen homes received minor flooding.
