Episode Narrative A strong low pressure system moved across the central Plains. The northern edge of this system brought heavy snow to south central South Dakota. The precipitation started as a mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet before changing to snow. Six to 12 inches of snow fell across Tripp County and eastern portions of Mellette and Todd Counties, with the heaviest snow across northeastern Tripp County. Gusty northwest winds produced blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities to a quarter of a mile or less at times.
