Episode Narrative An arctic cold front over southern Canada moved southeast into the Ohio River valley in the evening hours of January 14th. This brought bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills across portions of northeast Iowa in the evening hours of January 14th through the morning hours of January 16th. Lowest wind chill values ranged from -32F in Clayton county to -51F in Fayette county.
Event Narrative Unofficial lowest wind chill values ranged from -32F at McGregor to -51F at Monona in the morning hours on January 15th. Many area schools were closed on January 15th and 16th.
