| Episode Narrative | Very light winds, no cloud cover, and a high pressure system over the Tennessee Valley produced an optimal situation for strong radiational cooling. With cold and dry air in place over the area behind a departed cold front, temperatures dropped below freezing for several hours across northern Alabama as a result. Temperatures ranged from 24 or 25 degrees in the coldest locations to around 31 degrees in other locations. |
| Event Narrative | Temperatures across Morgan county dropped to the freezing mark or below for at least 4 hours. Some locations, such as the Florette, were at or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 10 hours. This allowed temperatures to drop to 25 degrees Fahrenheit at Florette. Low temperatures on the morning of the 29th were primarily between 25 and 30 degrees countywide. |
