Well established southerly flow kept moisture at higher levels throughout the region. A dryline located from Roswell through the Guadalupe Mountains slowly moved eastward during the afternoon and provided a focusing mechanism for storm development. The strength of thunderstorms was increased by the presence of a moderately unstable and higher wind shear environment. |
