Thunderstorms developed near a warm front situated along the Canadian border, while a cold front extended southward through central Minnesota. Some storms became severe in the late afternoon and produced large hail. A waterspout touched down on Leech Lake and traveled approximately four miles in a northeasterly direction before dissipating. |
