Episode Narrative A deep, moist atmosphere, aided by outflow boundaries, helped produce a few reports of funnel clouds, a brief tornado and heavy rain around Tucumcari. Heavy rain over the Sacramento Mountains also produced flash flooding along the Rio Penasco River in southwest Chaves County.
Event Narrative Heavy rain over the headwaters of the Rio Penasco and Agua Chituita Creek led to flooding of at least two ranches along the Rio Penasco river, south of U.S. route 82 in southwest Chaves county.
