According to data from the Storm Prediction Center, during July, there were 61 preliminary tornado reports. This is below the 1991-2010 average of 134. There were no reported tornado-related fatalities during the month. This marked a continuation of below-average tornado counts during 2013 to date.There were 216 confirmed tornadoes during the January-April period, and 453 tornado reports still pending for May-July, for an estimated year-to-date (January-July) tornado count of 669. The 1991-2010 average number tornadoes for the seven-month period is 953.
