Wildfires - June 2016


NCEI added Alaska climate divisions to its nClimDiv dataset on Friday, March 6, 2015, coincident with the release of the February 2015 monthly monitoring report. For more information on this data, please visit the Alaska Climate Divisions FAQ.

For June, 5,230 fires (5th least since 2000) burned 526,926 acres (6th least on record), which is 100.8 acres burned/fire (9th least on record). For January - June, 25,657 fires (2nd least since 2000) burned 2,124,909 acres (6th most on record), which is 82.8 acres burned/fire (2nd most on record).
