Refrigerated vans transported the core boxes from the runway to the GISP2 headquarters at the University of New Hampshire. Eventually, the entire GISP2 core was placed in reflective cardboard
canisters like these and stored at the National Ice Core Laboratory (NICL), a state-of-the-art cold storage facility jointly sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the United States Geological Survey, and the University of Colorado, Boulder.
