HURSAT-B1 Summary
The HURSAT-B1 data are derived from International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) B1 data. More information on ISCCP and B1 data are available from their respective websites. The HURSAT-B1 data spans 1978-2006 and provides coverage of global tropical cyclones at 8-km and 3-hourly resolution. The primary drawback of the data set is the reduced spatial resolution, such that applying the Objective Dvorak technique is not advised. This is the impetus behind developing other HURSAT data, such as HURSAT-AVHRR.
HURSAT-B1 data are freely available via FTP. Please let us know when you use the data so that we can:
