Java Requirements

The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 1.5 (also known as Java 5) or greater must be installed. This will be done automatically through Java Web Start.

Administrator privileges are not needed to install/launch the Java NEXRAD Viewer or Exporter.

Note:
Administrative privileges are needed to:
1.) Install a newer version of the JRE through Java Web Start
2.) Manually install the latest JRE from Java Sun

Apple Quicktime is needed for the export of Quicktime Movies. Instructions Page.

User Computer Minimum RAM:

Java NEXRAD Viewer - 256M
Java NEXRAD Data Exporter - 128M

Java Web Start

Java Web Start is a Java feature allowing Java applications to be launched over the web. The application may be integrated into the user's desktop and run without using this website.
