This section describes the HIRS/4 Data Set Header Record format (Version 4, post-January 25, 2006, all spacecraft) and is documented in Table 8.3.1.5.2.2-1.

Reference Ellipsoid Model ID (The ellipsoid is a mathematically tractable approximation of the geoid, which is an equipotential surface at mean sea level. The maximum departure of the ellipsoid from the geoid is approximately +/- 65 meters.)
