8.3.1.8 SEM-2 Data Sets

This section describes the data characteristics and data formatof Space Environment Monitor (SEM-2) data. The data stream is processed by NESDIS into NOAA Level 1b format and deliveredelectronically to NOAA's Space Environment Center (SEC) in Boulder, Colorado. SEC reformats the data and is responsible for archivingand distributing the data. As such, the NOAA Level 1b format described in this section is ephemeral and should not be used fordata retrieved from the SEC archive.
