Virtual Globe Archived Severe Weather Warnings

What Is It?

The Virtual Globe Archived Severe Weather Warnings is a collection of daily and monthly .KMZ (Keyhole Markup Language (KML) Zipped) files containing the polygons of Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm, Flash Flood, and Special Marine Warnings (SMW Since February 2008). These warnings come from the Service Records Retention System (SRRS), and then they are processed using Java programs that utilize open source GIS.
