ADCP MOORING - DATAR. Weisberg (University of South Florida, USA)Announced availability: 1 January 1996 Data AccessThe USF ADCP mooring data are available from the COARE Moored Data Archive at NOAA/PMEL's Tropical Atmosphere-Ocean Array (TAO) Project Office (http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/coare/coare-data.html).The original data have also been archived at NOAA's National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) in Silver Spring, Maryland (http://www.nodc.noaa.gov), the repository for COARE oceanographic data, and at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado (http://dss.ucar.edu/pub/toga_coare/), the site of the TOGA COARE deep archive.
BackgroundThe ADCP moorings were located at 0 45'N, 156E and 0, 157 30'E. The data are hourly horizontal velocity components at 10 m intervals between 30 and 250 m.Both deployments of the COARE equatorial array yielded a 100% return of data. The data consist of hourly velocity profiles, at 10 m intervals, between depths of 280 m and 30 m (270 m and 30 m), from 11 February 1992 through 18 March 1993 (18 March 1993 through 4 April 1994). Ancillary data on temperature and salinity at the depths of the ADCP's transducer (nominally 290 m) are also available.
