R/V HAKUHO-MARU - AEROSOL DATA

T. Takashima (MRI, Japan)

Status: not released.

Data Access

Information about the availability of the maritime aerosol data collected onboard the R/V Hakuho-maru can be obtained from Tsutomu Takashima at MRI, Japan.

Background

During the Hakuho-maru cruise kh925, aerosol data were obtained from 12 through 26 November 1992 while the research vessel was on station at 0,156E.

Optical characteristics of atmospheric aerosol were measured. Optical thickness, size distribution, and refractive index of aersol wil be derived. A FPR2000 spectrometer (Optical Research Co. Japan) was used to measure atmospheric polarization. The channels are designed to 0.559, 0.662, 0.811, 1.645, 2.065, 2.180, and 2.330 um. and correspond to those of the optical sensor onboard the earth observation satellite JERS-1. A polarized filter in the optical front of the radiometer was used.
