Southeast Region Drought

September was wetter than normal, regionwide, marking the fourth consecutive month with rainfall near to above normal on a regional basis. However, long-term conditions remain very dry with regional ranks as low as eleventh driest for the hydrologic year (October-September). Long-term drought is even more severe on a statewide and local basis.
