This month was wetter than normal, statewide, ranking as the 13th wettest September in the 108-year record. However, persistent dryness during much of the last 12 months has resulted in the second driest year-to-date (January-September) and eighth driest hydrologic year (October-September) on record.

According to the Utah state climatologist (Dr. Donald Jensen), not only did southern Utah have the driest hydrologic year of record, but it was significantly lower than the next lowest.
