This month marked the second consecutive month with above-normal rainfall, statewide, giving South Carolina the 24th wettest August-September in the 108-year record. However, persistent dryness for much of the last 12 months has resulted in the fifth driest hydrologic year (October-September) on record. The last four hydrologic years have been much drier than the long-term mean.
