Temperature / Dewpoint
1. At Las Vegas, NV an all-time record high minimum temperature record for the month of November was tied on November 9, 2002 at 62°F. The previous records occurred on the 12th of November, 1983 and on November 13th, 1981.
2. At Houlton, ME on November 11, 2002 a record high temperature was set at 66°F. This is the warmest recorded temperature in Houlton this late in the year on record.
3. At Fairbanks, AK the average temperature for November, 2002 was 18.2°F. This makes it the second warmest November on record. The warmest November on record occurred in 1979 with an average temperature of 20°F.
Rainfall
1. A new monthly precipitation record for Kodiak, AK was set for November, 2002. A total of 15.92 inches of rain fell breaking the previous record of 15.35 inches which was set in 1983.
2. Peoria, IL experienced the driest Autumn on record (September 1 - November 30) . Only a total of 2.92 inches of rain fell breaking a previous record of 3.28 inches which was set in 1953.
Snowfall
1. At Albany, NY, November 2002 had the seventh greatest monthly snowfall record, which was set at a total of 12 inches. The following are the top 10 monthly snowfall records:
