Southeast Region Drought

June marked the ninth consecutive month with slightly to much below normal precipitation averaged across the Southeast region. Even though this month ranked as only the 54th driest June regionwide (see table below), parts of the region were extremely dry. In general, the Southeast has experienced unusually dry conditions every year since 1998.
