Delaware Drought

Although June ranked slightly drier than normal, statewide, for Delaware, beneficial rains during the last four months have brought relief from long-term drought conditions. Moisture deficits that accumulated during last fall and winter, however, were severe enough to give the state the driest September-June on record. End-of-June long-term (Palmer) drought conditions were in the moderate drought category for much of the state, with the USDA rating 39% of Delaware's pasture and range land in the poor to very poor category by early July.
