Climate of 2002 - August Northwest Region
Drought National Climatic Data Center, 13 September 2002

The last four months have been persistently drier than normal on a regional basis, giving the region its ninth driest May-August on record. However, the summer is the dry season for the Northwest region. Long-term dryness has resulted in the 37th driest September-August in the 108-year record.
