New Mexico Drought

Scattered, locally heavy showers fell across New Mexico during the summer (June-August). When integrated across the state, however, the rainfall resulted in only the 24th driest summer in the 108-year record. Long-term moisture deficits have given the state the third driest February-August and fourth driest September-August on record (see table below).
