Climate of 2002 - August New Jersey

August rainfall was below normal when averaged across the state. The short-term dryness gave New Jersey the ninth driest July-August and 27th driest summer (June-August) in the 108-year record. Persistent long-term drought has resulted in the third driest September-August on record (see table below).
