The look-and-feel of the website has been altered to be more consistent with other websites hosted by NCEI.
-
The informational (content) pages about USCRN have been updated to reflect current operating details.
-
Reports page has been split into two sections:
- Reports intended for data users
- Diagnostic tools intended for USCRN maintenance personnel.
-
On most dynamically generated pages the form option to request CSV has been removed. However, this feature is still available if you append "&format=csv" to the end of the URL. This is intended only to support automated scripts that poll our website. In the future an API with more features will be provided.
Important Note : CSV formatted data does not include quality-control flags! You might unintentionally use errant data.
-
On most dynamically generated pages the URL query parameters of "yyyymm[dd]", "yyyymmdd0", and "yyyymmdd1" have been changed to "date", "start-date", and "end-date". These fields now also require the ISO-8601 extended date format. So instead of having a date formatted as "20150422", the date should be formatted as "2015-04-22". If time needs to be included it should be separated from the date by one space and formatted as "HHmm" using the 24-hour clock convention. A timezone may be specified as either "Local", "LST", or "UTC". If Local is used, the date/time you have provided will be interpreted using the timezone of the site(s) that you have requested WITH daylight savings time (this is only applicable on the site summary and sensor pages). If LST is used, the date/time you have provided will be interpreted using the timezone of the site(s) that you have requested WITHOUT daylight savings time. If you use UTC then the date/time you provided will be interpreted using the Coordinated Universal Time timezone.
For backwards compatibility, most pages will continue supporting the old query parameters for several months. If you have an automated script that polls a dynamically generated page you are urged to change your script to use the new query parameters as soon as possible.
